Following consultation with key stakeholders and local groups, we have designed a purpose-built energy efficient and sustainable Health Centre for the local community which is ongoing, offering services that will meet your current and future health care needs.
Located on the Parr bridge Retail Park, surrounded by excellent amenity provision, currently comprising a brand new Lidl store, Nursery and Starbucks together with a future impressive mixed use retail & leisure terrace.
This new Health Centre will offer:

The new building is on course to achieve a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating, the worlds longest established method of assessing, rating and certifying the sustainability of buildings.
This new facility is a relocation of the existing Boothstown Medical Centre, only 960m away and the development has led to the opportunity to offer wider community services.

Green light for the new Health and Wellbeing Centre
Parr Bridge Health and Wellbeing Centre, a new healthcare development situated within a £10m development scheme, has been given the green light, with construction of the new building set to start in early 2022.
Parr Bridge Health and Wellbeing Centre will house the relocated Boothstown Medical Centre and also provide additional community services.
This new building is a collaboration between NHS Wigan Borough CCG, Flexdane Ltd, Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Boothstown Medical Centre and will be situated on the new and exciting Parr Bridge Retail Park, Mosley Common Road, Tyldesley, in the heart of the local community surrounded by new retail / leisure facilities with new residential schemes adjoining the development.

No – if you are already registered as a patient with Boothstown Medical Centre, you won’t need to register again if they move to the new building.
Yes, the new site will have more car parking spaces than before.
Yes, we have designed a safe and secure bicycle storage locker area on site, so people travelling by bicycle can have somewhere secure to store their bicycle when visiting the building.
Yes, the team will be the same when we move across into the new building.
These are currently being reviewed and will form part of the ongoing engagement process with the local community
Yes, moving forward we are intending to provide training placements for medical students and junior doctors.
We expect that the build will take about 12 months to complete, and will hopefully begin by early 2022, and be completed by early 2023
